Besure is an innovate peer-to-peer (P2P) type of insurance that allows individuals to pool their capital, self-organize, and self-administer their own insurance. Here’s how it works.

Besure is an innovative type of self-insurance that allows individuals to guard against life’s unexpected moments through community risk-sharing: the coming together of a group of people who value the same things and are looking for ways to protect them.

This type of self-insurance puts you in complete control and allows you to, along with other members of your pool, decide:

  • what you want to protect
  • your protection terms
  • how much you are willing to pay for that protection
  • whether or not a pool member’s claim should be paid

Peer to Peer Insurance Puts You In Complete Control

Unlike with traditional insurance, Besure takes the power (usually held by large corporations) and places it in YOUR hands. From deciding what you want to insure to how much you want to pay for it, this type of self-insurance works to take care of you and everything you value.

What is the Besure Community Court?

At Besure, we understand that there are no better people to judge the authenticity of a claim than jury members who share the same passion, encounter the same risks, and know exactly what their community members are experiencing.

The Community Court

That is why we have developed the Community Court - to ensure a fair and democratic review process should any member want to file a claim. The court is made up of jurors who:

  • are members of the pool
  • are randomly selected or volunteers
  • have pledged to assess claims in good faith
  • promise to abide by the values of cooperation and community

In this way, Besure strives to be a truly social platform where the common understanding and teamwork between pool members ensure that all individuals can successfully self-insure.

How Does Filing a Claim Work With Besure?

At Besure, we know that filing claims can often be stressful and frustrating so we’ve designed our submission process to be as simple and pain-free as possible. The procedure involves:

  1. An Explanation. Step one in filing a Besure claim is to inform your peers about the loss you’ve suffered and provided details such as the date the damage occurred, the amount of your claim, and any other details.

  2. Providing evidence. To file a claim you must upload the pool’s specified claim requirement evidence (eg. documents or pictures). This evidence will be stored securely and will only be temporarily viewable.

Once you’ve submitted a claim, it’s fate rests in the hands of your pool’s community court. Remember: these are people who share your passion and have encountered the same risks, so they know exactly what you are going through.

NEVER hesitate to reach out and communicate with your pool members if you require advice or support as it never hurts to build deeper connections and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge such a community offers.

Important Information About Filing Claims & The Community Court

While we strive to make the Besure claiming process as simple as possible, there are some things you need to know before you begin:

  • You must submit your claim in the month in which the incident occurred.
  • All claims are paid 6-8 days after the end of the month.
  • You are allowed to make one claim submission during the coverage period.
  • In the rare event that your pool doesn’t have enough money to cover all its approved claims, every member’s claim amount is proportionally reduced.
